"Do you remember? It's no longer September."
Monthly update rolling in with our Battle of the Ages result! Air and Fire beat Earth and Water 224 to 174! Medals for team Air and Fire will be presented starting Tuesday 10/6 and continue until all are presented. I guess the cowbell has more work to do.
October 13th will be Mustache Night! All players to wear mustaches. If you do not have a mustache, one will be provided to you. It's a MANLY EVENT (tm). Dress with machismo. Battle out for the Intercontinental Table Tennis Champion of the World trophy! Manly prizes. Steel cage match table. Winner stays all night long until the champion is proclaimed!
October 24th. Greatest of Phoenixville Championships. To participate you must reside, work, or attend school in Phoenixville. Women's event, Doubles event, and Open Singles. Other than the geographic requirement, the Open Singles requires you win and REPORT six matches against six different individuals during regular club meetings.
We still have tag matches, we still battle for the Speedrunners and Greatest Ever Doubles Champions flags, we still face the Golden Egg, every session.
The outdoor table now has a leader board. You can play anytime and report a match here to get leader board points. If anyone wants to try and organize a meet-up to play, that would be great! Currently Nick and Janel try to get up there Sundays at 5:30pm.
Some September highlights:
Nick and Janel hit Princeton Pong and had to face each other in the final of the U1000. Janel took the first place trophy!
Frank took 2nd and Shata 3rd in the Easton TTC tournament on 9/6
Robert is back in action and won the Exton Singles tournament, Doug took second. You can watch the final here.
I have been trying to get more participation for Infinite Loop Table Tennis Club, which meets at Trinity Lighthouse Church, 66 S. Limerick Rd, Royersford Pa 19468 on Mondays at 7pm. Keep an eye out for a ping pong player in a chicken or horse mask popping up in unexpected places. They do have a Greatest Ever Doubles Champions flag you know.
Tournaments:
- Princeton Pong has a USATT tournament Saturday 10/3 and a Spindex tournament Sunday 10/4. They have two different registration pages.
- Easton Table Tennis Club has a Spindex tournament Sunday 10/25
- Pong for Progress is holding a Giant Round Robin event in Phoenixville 11/7 for which our club will be closed to open play. The U1800 is on a waiting list. Contact me to be added. The U800 and Over 1800 are still open for entries.
Closures:
Club closed Tuesday 11/3, Saturday 11/7
Two room night (code red, 6-7 tables only) is 10/20
Okay, I think I have forgotten to add an item or two, best to stop now before I achieve perfection.
See you at the table!
